Chantal follows people in their daily behaviour and tries to get under their skin. With her camera she investigates her subject. She doesn’t act out scenes, but tries to show what is really there, raw emotion and reality. Her pictures often have a snapshot type character and she combines portraits of people with interiors and street scenes. She gives people a little view into the lives of others – for example how they are living, what they are eating and how they dress.
